These baskets are based upon a traditional design that Beverly drafted and updated with modern methods for the pre-cut fabric that will be ready for you to sew. Alaskan Landscape Collage Have you always wanted to create a landscape quilt but felt terrified at the though? Fear Not! Using her latest Fast, Fun, and Stress-free methods, Joyce will teach you how easy and fun it is to create a landscape collage! You’ll learn design basics and construction principals and end up with a gorgeous Alaskan themed wall-sized landscape collage quilt. Although this is a “design” only workshop, Joyce will demonstrate her stream-lined stitching methods designed especially for this cruise. Additionally, she will be available to all of her registered students for a half-hour at the beginning of Roxanne Carter’s Quilt ‘til You wilt Sessions to assist students with their designs and stitching. The class kit will include all fabrics, batting, and thread to create this stunning wall quilt. A fun class with lots of tips and laughter!!! Class fee $50.00 |

Quiltsmart and Legends: Following Jody Houghton’s presentation, Mattie will provide a mix of stories, quilts, and inspiration! Come to relax, listen, laugh while exploring a little bit of quilting history and a bit of an Alaskan legend, as it relates to quilting. You will be able to get excited about the quilt you thought you couldn't make! Mattie will show you how to make the Lone Star, Double Wedding Ring, Flower Garden, Dahlia and many more using easy methods, that are fun and fast too! You will see plenty of quilts to inspire you and hear many stories that will inspire too! |

Along with her lecture From Fiber to Fabric, Patti will also hold a trunk show, Interesting Quilts From Unusual Fabrics. The trunk show will include many quilts that incorporate panels, border stripes, and large motifs in different ways, as Patti inspires quilters to take a second look at these types of fabrics available in quilt shops. |

Landscape Quilting with Joyce Becker. Where do the ideas come from and once you have an idea, what next? Joyce shares inspirations, ideas and processes for creating landscape quilts. In her Power Point presentation, Joyce shows pictures of her in-progress quilts, how the quilts evolve, and the completed project(s). Joyce’s presentations are fun, entertaining, and include a trunk show of her most popular quilts, along with a question and answer period. |

Tricks and Tips for Quilters: Roxanne will show you all her tricks to make your piecing easier and more accurate and you will see how to use all those fun and exciting tools that are available for quilters. |

Beverly Dunivent: a Woman and Her Quilts. Beverly’s lecture will include slides and quilts from her collection along with a glimpse of her life. She will show and tell the stories of many of the quilts that she has made as well as some of the outstanding antique pieces that she has collected over the last twenty plus years. |

Jody Houghton |
"The Story Behind the Art for The Sisterhood of Quilters." Jody will tell the story of how her whimsical yet heart-warming characters got their names; Faith, Hope, and Charity. She will also explain the process she uses to weave these important concepts into her designs and the self-appointed quilting club, The Sisterhood of Quilters - common interests, common desires. |

All rates listed are per person with double occupancy required. The total cost of each cruise package includes: Cruise fare in the stateroom category you select; all on-board meals including late night buffets; port fees, fuel supplement and government charges and taxes totaling $189.88; attendance at two private one hour cocktail parties, attendance at presentations by Jody Houghton, a copy of the group photo, and the opportunity to win the cruise memory quilt. Not included in cruise package rates are gratuities, transportation to or from the ship in Seattle, items of a personal nature, travel insurance coverage for cancellations, fuel supplement or tax increases, and shore excursions or other optional activities available through Holland America that are not included in the cruise fare for all passengers on this cruise. Upon receipt of your deposit you will receive a registration confirmation packet including a class registration form and full color deck plan of Holland America Line’s ms. Zuiderdam to assist you in selecting your classes and travel insurance information. Your deposit balance of $550.00 per person to assign your stateroom is due at the time your stateroom is assigned by the cruise line (beginning in April 2009 – NOTE: Your stateroom will not assigned until your full deposit is paid). Cruise deposit balances may be paid using a credit card; however, registration deposits and quilting related fees must be paid by check or money order only! A credit card authorization form will be included with your cruise registration confirmation. Staterooms will be assigned in April 2009 (or at the time your full deposit is paid) and you will receive a cruise invoice balance statement with your stateroom assignment. Final payment is due March 1, 2010. Cancellations received after registration will result in the loss of your registration deposit. Cancellations received after March 1, 2010 will result in the loss of your entire $700.00 deposit, travel insurance premiums, and all quilting related fees (if applicable) including class and kit fees paid to the instructor. Cancellations received after April 1, 2010 will result in the loss of 50% of your cruise package cost, travel insurance premiums, and all quilting related fees (if applicable) including class and kit fees paid to the instructor. Cancellations received after April 30, 2010 will result in the loss of 75% of your cruise package cost, travel insurance premiums, and all quilting related fees (if applicable) including class and kit fees paid to the instructor. Cancellations received after May 26, 2009 will result in the loss of your entire cruise package cost, travel insurance premiums, and all quilting related fees (if applicable) including class and kit fees paid to the instructor. Cancellations must be received in writing, with the reason for the cancellation stated, by Travel Leaders (formerly Carlson Wagonlit Travel Center) prior to the cancellation date applicable to avoid additional cancellation penalties.
