Kathy Scott
Aurora Borealis Mariner’s Compass
|
The Mariner’s Compass is a classic pattern traces its roots to a maritime navigational device used centuries ago. That makes it a wonderful pattern for our class at sea, one that will conjure memories of your time onboard, reminding you of all the good times you had and good friends you’ll keep forever. In the late sixteenth century sailors used the mariner’s compass for navigation. The center star is symbolic of the sailor’s “lodestar” - the star which guided the way. Ours will be a simplified version of the classic pattern, and a good foundation for you to build more intricate patterns on your own. Kathy Scott will show you paper piecing techniques that will make your points come out perfectly! |
